Dana moved from Florida to Los Angeles, California in August, 2004
where she currently works as a Registered Dietitian at the UCLA
Medical Center.  She also recently completed her Masters in Public
Health (MPH) at UCLA's School of Public Health, in the department of
Community Health Sciences.
She will re-matriculate at UCLA's school
of public health starting Fall '09 to start her Ph.D.

During her tenure at UCLA in the MPH program, Dana was awarded the
"Leadership in Maternal and Child Health Training Grant."  A grant which
allowed her the opportunity to explore her interests in maternal and child
nutrition.  This is an honor as it is awarded to fewer than 10 students
across the nation each year.

Dana functions as the dietitian for the
Cardiac floor where she
specializes in Heart Transplants.
Additionally, Dana serves as the Head
and Neck surgical dietitian.

Currently, Dana acts as the Liaison between UCLA Medical Center's
nutrition department and a "Pilot Wellness Initiative" for the entire
University of California system, a public health program designed to
improve the health of its employees at the work-site.  In this position,
Dana has the opportunity to showcase her talents in designing pertinent
media campaigns, teaching classes, and writing nutrition articles.

She attended Cornell University where she graduated in three years with
a Bachelor's of Science.  She double majored in Nutritional Sciences
and Human Biology, Health, and Society, with a concentration in Acting.

While at Cornell, Dana was active in drama and dance clubs, performed
in an on-campus play as well as dancing exhibitions, and was a member
of the Alpha Phi sorority.

After graduating from Cornell, Dana attended Emory University Hospital
where she completed her dietetic internship.

During her time at Emory, she was given the opportunity to spend time
on the Health and Medical Unit of the CNN Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
While there, Dana used her knowledge of nutrition to assist the news
reporters and medical team in writing nutrition and other medical news
stories, using her prior knowledge of copy-writing she obtained while
working at a CNN affiliate in Tampa, FL two years before.

Prior to moving out to California, which Dana knew she wanted to do
since high school, she spent time working at talent agencies and at
Paramount Classics in Hollywood.

Dana has always been interested in entertainment, media, and nutrition.
It is her goal to bridge these passions by bringing sound, accurate, and
understandable nutrition information to the public in an interesting and
entertaining manner.

Dana currently enjoys cooking and watching such rising stars as Dave
Lieberman on the Food Network.  It is her goal to have a similar
opportunity and showcase her talents and knowledge.
